Weekend 'O Sports
If you love sports, how can October not be your favorite month of the year? Baseball playoffs, NFL and college football, the NBA and NHL just getting started - it's phenomenal. Not to mention the fact that the weather is perfect for playing sports as well. So despite the fact that I have plenty of work to do this weekend, I find myself allocating pretty much all my time to playing and watching sports.
It started off Friday afternoon with a couple hours of playing sand volleyball. It had been awhile for me, but I found my groove pretty quickly. My sets and passes were fine, but hitting still needs some work. Then Saturday Tara and I hit the golf course for a couple hours of practice. We hit the range and then moved over to the short practice hole for some chipping and sand work. We got back one hour into the 'Stros game, which with Tivo is perfect timing - you can fast forward through commercials and catch up to the live game at around the 9th inning. Even better, the Astros won. I topped off the day with some lifting and watching highlights from that amazing USC - Notre Dame game. I'd really be kicking myself for missing it if the Astros had lost.
Sundays, of course, are for the NFL. Thanks to the wonders of the Pacific time zone, football games start at 10am. We watched a pretty sloppy game between Dallas and New York (8 turnovers combined), but Tara was psyched to see the Cowboys win. I'm currently watching the Stros (once again on a slight delay) and the score is still 0-0 in the 3rd. But in 30 minutes I'm off to play in my first intramural football game of the year. Tonight the Texans play the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, and in case that's a blow-out, I've got the White Sox-Angels game. Needless to say, I'm experiencing sports nirvana as I write.

dude. last night was ricockulous. watched the astros clinch at a bar with rosh, riz, and cyrus. rosh was on the verge of tears. i was covered in beer and water by the end of the evening. anyway, needless to say, we missed you.
Hey, good news, I just tried to read blogs (as I do every week) but this time it actually worked. Must have been Pres. Bush's special request on his visit here to China: "Hey little guy, I'm George W. and I'd really like to boost my numbers, how about letting 1.3 billion people surf my site". You're blog is pretty smooth, I'm going to have to add some more bells and whistles to mine when I get the chance.
